Is the United States of America/President George W. Bush practising double standards.Thomas D Robinson, an American living in Singapore agrees.Quoted:"As an American, I am ashamed of my government's actions in Iraq".I believe the U.S/President Bush has an ulterior motive, which is to get oil(Iraq has lots and N.Korea none). Why not attack N.Korea now.It has admitted it has weapons of mass destruction(WMD).It kicks international inspectors out of the country and has threaten to use the WMD.Saddam Hussein has denied having WMD, cooperated with UN inspectors and was attacked by the U.S for being truthful and not having WMDs.Maybe if he'd say he had them, the U.S won't attack Iraq. Now N.Korea is telling the world it has WMDs and what did the U.S do?It offered negotiations and economic aid package.B'cos of this, some Iraqis have gone to the extreme.Bombing everything U.S and anyone helping the U.S.The Iraqis should be allowed to speak for themselves.History has proven that when a foreigner invades a country, he/she causes disruption and disorder.He/she is then sent packing home or killed in the process.Look at India, Singapore, Vietnam and Indonesia under foreign invasion. We Singaporeans drove the British out of our land.Everyone wants freedom not only the Iraqis. We don't want foreign leaders, we want homebred leaders. Our own people as leaders. And that's what Iraqis want. The don't want to be under U.S influence. They don't want the U.S to be the backbone for their growth after what they have been through.President Bush must be very happy now that he's got the richess of oil from Iraq or rather stole the richess of oil from the people of Iraq.N.Korea has nothing for U.S to profit so why waste time and men to N.Korea.It's double standard can also be seen on how it treats the on-going Israel-Palestine crisis. But that's for another time.
